September is Attendance Awareness Month!

Consistent attendance plays an important role in high school success. Every school day gives students opportunities to engage in meaningful learning, connect with teachers and classmates, and make progress toward graduation and their future goals.

Missing even a few days each month can add up quickly, making it more difficult to keep up with coursework, participate fully in class, and remain on track academically. Regular attendance also helps students develop responsibility, time-management skills, and positive habits that will serve them well in college, careers, and beyond.

We appreciate the continued partnership of our students and families in making attendance a priority. Together, we can help every Raider stay connected, make the most of every opportunity, and enjoy a successful school year.

Our Raiders made us PR💙UD at our first XC meet of the season at Mathews! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Our girls team brought home 2nd place! 🥈 A huge congratulations to Mia Tignor, who finished 2nd overall, and Ada Warren, who finished 3rd overall! 👏🔥

And a big shoutout to our boys, who ran hard, competed strong, and gave it their all out on the course! 💪🏃‍♂️ We are proud of the effort and determination from every single Raider!

Due to the unfavorable weather forecast and the logistics involved with the long trip, the decision has been made to move our Varsity Football game originally scheduled for Friday to Thursday, August 27.

Charles City has canceled its varsity volleyball season. As a result, our home match this Thursday and the away match scheduled for September 10 have been canceled.

The good news—Surry has agreed to play the Raiders instead!

Thursday, August 27: Surry at Rappahannock — JV begins at 5:30 PM, with varsity to follow.
Monday, September 21: Rappahannock at Surry — JV begins at 5:30 PM, with varsity to follow.

Both changes will be posted on our ArbiterLive site.

We are proud to recognize Rappahannock High School alumnus Zion Graham, who is featured in the official Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) National Anthem music video!

Last spring, Zion earned an incredible opportunity to travel to Utah, where he collaborated with fellow high school students and professionals from the music industry. Together, they combined their talents to create this inspiring video.
