June Dairy Month is here! Since 1939, June Dairy Month has celebrated the hardworking dairy farmers who help provide nutritious dairy products for families across the country.

At Perry Elementary, students are exploring the science of dairy through a fun, hands-on activity—making homemade ice cream in a bag! As they learn how simple ingredients transform into a delicious treat, they're also gaining a better understanding of the dairy products they enjoy every day.

The lesson ends with the best reward of all: creamy, homemade vanilla ice cream! 😋

Our Dairy Delight lessons are officially underway! Throughout the month, we'll be exploring the many benefits dairy products provide—both nutritionally and as an important part of our local community.

Students will enjoy hands-on activities like shaking their own butter and making ice cream in a bag while learning where dairy foods come from and how they support healthy lifestyles.

• Provide friendly, professional customer service to the public
• Assist with communications, marketing, and event coordination
• Handle registrations, data entry, and record-keeping
• Support fair preparation, setup, and operations
• Organize supplies, materials, and displays
• Help create a safe, positive environment for all participants

It’s been an egg-citing couple of days! Ms. Stephanie has been candling the chicken eggs in classrooms, giving students a front-row look at the miracle of life. They’ve been searching for blood vessels, the chick’s eye, and the shadow of the growing embryo inside the shell. Learning has never been so hands-on—or so egg-stra special! Only 9 more days until hatch day! 🐣🥚✨

Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Farmers are true stewards of the land, caring for it today and for future generations. Dairy farmers continue to adopt new technology that helps protect natural resources and reduce agriculture’s carbon footprint.

From GPS-guided tractors and drones to precision manure application that helps reduce runoff and improve soil health, innovation is helping farms become more efficient and sustainable every day.

Hands-on learning is what we believe youth remember most—and having a live chicken visit your classroom definitely makes for a memorable day! 🐔✨

Ms. Stephanie brought in “Sweetie,” her 5-year-old Speckled Sussex chicken, for a fun and educational visit. Students learned about different chicken breeds, what chickens eat, and the variety of eggs they can lay.

Safe to say the students had an *egg-citing* time! 🥚💛

📚 Program Focus Includes:
• School-based programs: Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) & Dairy in the Classroom (DITC)
• Farm to School projects with CCE and local school district partners
• 4-H STEAM programming (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Agriculture, Math)
• Summer day camps & Wyoming County Fair events

🎓 Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree with relevant experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of transferable, evidence-based experience

Happy National Agriculture Day! 🌾🚜

Agriculture is the science, art, and practice of cultivating soil, producing crops, and raising livestock to provide food, fiber, and other products.

This sounds great and all — but what does agriculture mean to you?

When you hear the word agriculture, do you imagine family dairy farms 🐄, growing a garden 🌱, producing maple syrup 🍁, or the cotton used to make the clothes we wear 👕? Agriculture is all around us, in daily items we often don’t even realize we’re using.

Let’s take a moment to thank the farmers — not just today, but every day — for the materials, food, and clothing they provide for us all. ❤️
