Happy !

Today, we’re excited to spotlight Tabitha McDonald (WACC teacher and HOSA sponsor) who was nominated by Tracy Beiler for the incredible impact she makes across WCS!

EACH school year, Tabitha helps certify more than 100 WCS staff members in CPR, while also preparing many future healthcare professionals in the classroom! In addition, she leads HOSA, where she provides students with opportunities to compete and explore their futures in healthcare.

Thank you, Tabitha, for investing in our staff & students and ! We appreciate you!

**A special thank you to United Way for partnering with us to celebrate our Tiger Tuesday honorees and providing our winners with $100 in Kosciusko Cash!

🏠✨ If I Built a House… ✨🏠
Mrs. Driscoll’s 1st grade class is putting on their engineer hats and getting creative! 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️
Our students are exploring what it means to be an engineer by imagining, planning, designing, and building their own unique house rooms. They are thinking about the function of each room, what items they would include, and how their designs can be improved.
After sketching their ideas on a blueprint, students will take on the challenge of building walls using popsicle sticks and clothespins. 🪵📐
We love watching our first graders use their creativity, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and imagination to bring their ideas to life! 💡❤️
What kind of room would YOU design if you could build your own house? 🏠💭

🧪🐘STEM in 4th Grade!🐘🧪
Mrs. Asay and Mrs. Williams’ 4th grade classes got to put their scientific thinking to work with an exciting Elephant Toothpaste vs. Vinegar & Baking Soda lesson!
Students explored chemical reactions, made observations, asked questions, and saw firsthand how different substances can react and create some BIG results!
We love seeing our students learning through hands-on STEM experiences and having fun while doing it!

📚✨ Learning can be so much fun during switches! ✨📚
Mr. Sims’ 4th grade class enjoyed a fun Parts of Speech review through Mad Libs with Mrs. Williams! Students practiced identifying and using different parts of speech while getting creative with their silly stories. What a fun way to review! 📝😄
📖🎨 Meanwhile, Miss Vineyard’s 2nd grade class had a great time in the library with Mrs. Heckaman! They enjoyed coloring, playing games, and listening to a story together. It was a wonderful time of learning, creativity, and fun! 💙📚

🌱🔬 STEM in First Grade! 🔬🌱
Mrs. Groninger’s first graders have been busy thinking like scientists! 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬
As they learn more about scientists and what they do, students put their skills to work with a hands-on STEM investigation. Their big question was:
🌱 Do all pea pods have the same number of peas?
The students made observations, opened their pea pods, counted their peas, and compared their findings. They discovered that the answer is NO! 🎉 Different pea pods can have different numbers of peas.
What a great way to learn that scientists ask questions, make observations, collect information, and use what they discover to answer their questions!
We love seeing our first graders being curious, asking questions, and learning through hands-on experiences! 💚🔎

🐛🛟 STEM to the Rescue! 🛟🐛
Our students put their problem-solving skills to the test today with the Save Fred Challenge! 🔬🧠
Fred the worm found himself in quite the predicament—his boat flipped over, and his life preserver was stuck underneath! Students had to work together to rescue Fred using only paperclips, without touching or poking him. 🙌
This hands-on challenge encouraged our students to practice teamwork, communication, creativity, and critical thinking as they worked to get Fred safely into his gummy-ring life preserver and back into his boat. 🚤
There was lots of thinking, problem-solving, and perseverance happening today! We love watching our students tackle challenges, try new ideas, and learn from one another. ❤️
Way to go, STEM problem-solvers! 👏🐛
