YOU DON’T HAVE TO WALK THROUGH IT ALONE

Grief and anger can show up in ways we don’t expect. Sometimes the weight of loss feels overwhelming. Sometimes frustration takes over. Sometimes we simply need a safe place to talk, pray, and be reminded that we aren’t meant to carry everything alone.

Holy Family Support Group is a place for individuals and families to find encouragement, understanding, prayer, and compassionate support within our Sacred Heart Parish community.

Our upcoming gathering will focus on Dealing with Anger and Grief. Whether you are walking through loss yourself, supporting someone you love, or simply want to better understand these difficult emotions, you are welcome.

Monday, August 24th at 6:30 PM

Sacred Heart Music Ministry is looking for YOU!

Do you love to sing? Play an instrument? Feel called to help make our liturgies beautiful through music? There is a place for you in our Music Ministry.

We are looking for cantors, choir members, and instrumentalists who are willing to share their gifts in service to God and our parish community.

You do not have to be a professional musician. You simply need a love for music, a heart for worship, and a willingness to serve.

Perhaps you have been sitting in the pew thinking, β€œSomeday I should get involved.” Maybe someday is today.

Today's Gospel gives us one of the most striking moments in all of Scripture. A Canaanite woman β€” an outsider, with no claim on Jesus by birth or tradition β€” cries out to Him in desperation. She is met with silence. Then resistance. And still she presses on.

"Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David!"

Jesus marvels at her faith. And her daughter is healed.

This is what bold, persevering faith looks like β€” not the faith of someone who has it all figured out, but the faith of someone who knows where to bring what cannot be carried alone.

Today that same faith is sealed in the lives of our Confirmation candidates.

At 2:00 PM, Bishop Kevin Rhoades will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation here at Sacred Heart Parish. Our young men and women will receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit β€” wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord β€” and be sent into the world as witnesses of Christ.

Please pray for them today. And come to Mass ready to bring your own unanswered prayers before the Lord who hears them all. πŸ™πŸ•ŠοΈ

Today the Church celebrates one of her most glorious feasts: the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

At the close of her earthly life, Our Lady was taken up β€” body and soul β€” into the glory of heaven. She did not wait for the resurrection of the dead. By a singular grace, God granted her immediately what He promises to all the faithful at the end of time.

This is not just a feast about Mary. It is a feast about us β€” and where we are going.

Mary's Assumption is our hope made visible. Her glorified body in heaven is the preview of what awaits every soul who clings to her Son. She is not a distant figure in a painting β€” she is our Mother, alive and glorified, interceding for us right now before the throne of God.

The Church has always believed this. It was solemnly defined as dogma by Pope Pius XII on November 1, 1950 β€” not as something new, but as the formal declaration of what the faithful have treasured from the beginning.

"All generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me." β€” Luke 1:48–49

Honor her today. Ask for her intercession. And let her Assumption remind you that heaven is not a metaphor β€” it is your destination. πŸ•ŠοΈ
