What a wonderful afternoon of curiosity, creativity, and connection.

Thank you to Alive Center for bringing our community together for STEM Exploration Day, and to every young designer and family who stopped by the Orion STEM Schools table to create with us.

We brought the materials. You brought the curiosity.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to meet so many families and share a little of what learning at Orion is all about.

Real problems do not arrive labeled: Math. Science. Writing. Technology. Entrepreneurship.

A community water challenge may require students to understand ecosystems, analyze data, calculate costs, evaluate public policy, interview stakeholders, communicate evidence, and design a workable solution.

The disciplines matter deeply. But students must also learn how to connect and use them.

At Orion, students develop rigorous academic knowledge and apply it through interdisciplinary learning, transdisciplinary challenges, human-centered design, and Problem-Based Experiential Learning.

They investigate real questions. They understand the people affected. They build and test ideas. They receive feedback. They revise. They present their work to authentic audiences.

Before children can take intellectual risks, they need to feel safe enough to be seen.

Before they can lead, they need to know their voice matters. And before they can develop confidence, they need someone who understands not only what they are learning - but who they are becoming.

At Orion, every learner is supported by a Caring Designer who comes to know the child's strengths, interests, aspirations, relationships, questions, and areas for growth.
