September is National Piano Month, and we can’t think of a better reason to celebrate our own Bob! Bob shares his love of music with our students as a piano, pipe organ, and voice teacher, and we’re so lucky to have him at Allegro.

In 2006, a group of students at Xavier High School in New York City were given an interesting assignment: to write their favorite authors and try to persuade them to visit the school. Kurt Vonnegut was the only author to reply.

Happy National Dog Day!

Meet the four-legged members of the Allegro family! Our teachers may spend their days teaching music, acting, and dance, but clearly, their most important role is being a dog parent.

Give your favorite pup an extra belly rub today, and tell them we said they're doing a great job.

Last but not least, congratulations to Tonya Smith, now in her 18th year teaching cosmetology at Kettle Run High School. Tonya is the third of three winners from our First Friday raffle and was actually onsite when her name was called!

Big congratulations go out to Mindy Whitten, a 27-year special education veteran. She has been with FCPS1 for eight years and has served at Kettle Run High School for the past two years. Mindy is the second of three winners from our First Friday raffle!

We had an amazing first week of class and are so looking forward to week two! We have an addition to round out our administrative staff that we are soooo excited about. Introducing our Program Operations Manager, Mary Beth Balint!

Mary Beth, has been busy all Summer getting everything ready for students, families, teachers, and staff. She spent all last week conducting meetings with families, and then led a teacher/staff meeting this weekend. If you have any questions or concerns regarding Allegro logistics, Mary Beth is the place to go!

We were so thrilled to present $500 to each of three educators who entered the raffle on First Friday. Here’s one of them: Amanda Smith is a math teacher at Taylor Middle School. She is a 21-year teaching veteran and has been in FCPS for the past five years. Congratulations!

DAY TWO!

We had such a great first day back! Our studios were filled with fun lessons, lots of get-to-know-you activities, plenty of laughter, and SO many smiles.

And that was just Day One! Let’s make it another great day at Allegro!
