What a great day! Over 130 tickets purchased, 18 tagged trophy trout brought in for prizes, and all remaining prizes raffled at the end. A big thanks to all who participated and to Kris Svensen and Jeff Keightley for their generously donated fishing trips for two. We will shoot for doing it again in 2027 - hope to see you there!

It is almost time! Clear your calendars for the 13th Annual Fishing Derby!

WHEN: Saturday April 26 2025
We will start selling tickets at 7:00 AM at the North End of Coffenbury Lake. Derby ends at 2:00 PM with raffle for any remaining prizes for unused tickets.

HOW: Buy as many tickets as you like for $10 each - catch one of the 50 lunker color-tagged trout that will be swimming in the lake. Bring it up to Derby Headquarters (a table at the north end of the lake by the parking lot), and you can claim a prize based on the color of the tag. At the end of the derby, unused tickets can be put in the drawing for remaining prizes!

WHY: Fisheries Technology is the culminating class in a two-year Aquatic Biology Program. We have reared some gorgeous 3-4 lb. rainbow trophy trout in our on-campus ponds as a part of our hands-on Career and Technical Education Program. All funds raised will go towards the Eldon Korpela Fisheries Scholarship, an award that goes to an outstanding senior planning on a natural resources career.

We are in the process of getting prizes and sponsors. If you feel that this is a valuable cause and wish to support it, we greatly appreciate any items you can donate for derby prizes.

A huge thanks to all the people who came out to participate and support our program yesterday in the derby - it was very successful on a gorgeous April day. Over 30 tagged fish were winners, and 100's of trout were caught on the lake. THANK YOU, PEOPLE!!
