🌳 A New Chapter for a Beloved Landmark
This summer, Highland said goodbye to the beloved oak tree that stood at the Middle School circle for generations.
After sustaining significant storm damage several years ago, the tree's health continued to decline. While difficult, removing it now was the safest choice to ensure our campus remains a secure place for students, families, faculty, and visitors.
This project was made possible through the extraordinary generosity of our own Highland community. We are deeply grateful to Johnny Wright and the team at Earth & Turf, who donated their time, expertise, and equipment to carefully remove the tree at no cost to the school.
Earth & Turf has long been a valued Highland Heroes corporate partner, and Johnny's commitment to conservation and community stewardship is well known throughout our region. Their generosity is a wonderful reminder that giving back isn't always measured in dollars—it can also be measured in expertise, hard work, and a willingness to serve others.

This isn't the end of the story—it's the beginning of a new one.
Plans are already underway to reimagine this space with a new tree that will one day become a defining feature of our campus landscape, creating beauty, shade, and memories for generations of Highland students. We also have an exciting student-led beautification project in the works that we can't wait to share with you in the coming months.
