Fauquier Education Foundation Our Mission

To initiate, magnify, and sustain unique educational opportunities within Fauquier County Public Schools.

Since the mid-1980's, The Committee for Excellence in Education has supported and promoted excellence in our public schools by providing enrichment opportunities for teachers. The Committee has awarded funds in excess of $260,000 to over 175 teachers. During the 2013-2014 school year, a group of Fauquier County school officials, school board members, parents, and local citizens met regularly in th

e interest of launching a local public school foundation to benefit students and make 21st century learning a reality. The group was provided a perfect opportunity to merge with The Committee for Excellence in Education. This merger expands the scope of the existing foundation to include Fauquier County public school students and staff. In early 2014, The Committee for Excellence in Education became the Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation.

Nancy Griffin-Bonnaire serves as the Executive Director of the Education Foundation, passionately championing educational excellence and innovation within the Fauquier County public school community. With a deep commitment to fostering student and educator success, Nancy spearheads the Foundation’s mission to enrich the educational lives of students and empower teachers through impactful grants and community-driven partnerships. In 2024–25, she successfully led the organization through a critical rebranding process—transitioning from the Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation—to modernize its messaging, enhance brand recognition, and strategically re-engage local stakeholders. Under her leadership, the newly rebranded Foundation bridges the gap between community resources and classroom needs, ensuring that educators have the tools to inspire and students have opportunities to thrive. Her collaborative approach and dedication to public education make her a vital advocate for the future of Fauquier County’s youth.
