Yesterday, our artistic director, , attended the premiere of Prima, a ballet documentary by that featured her working with her former student, .ehopkins, and followed 7 ballerinas performing today and shaping the dance world including Petra Conti. It will be available everywhere in about 6 weeks, and we will definitely be having a watch party at the studio! Thank you, Luka, for making this possible and for showing another perspective into the hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and joy that comes from having a career in the arts. September was a busy month full of classes, Nutcracker rehearsals, and coaching for competitions including and , so here are a few snapshots we managed to capture! Our students work hard and dedicate themselves to coming multiple times per week for both classes and rehearsals. We can’t wait to see their accomplishments on the stage in December! ✨Meet P A M B U R C H ✨

She will be leading our Adult Ballet Classes! She will teach both Gentle Adult Ballet and Foundational Adult Ballet starting on Monday, September 9th. She has an amazing bio combining both professional dance experience with many years of leading adult ballet classes successfully. We are so excited that she is rounding out our Adult program with classes that will help adults explore their passion and love for ballet.

Pam Burch is a native of Washington, D.C. but has lived in Warrenton for the last several decades. She began her ballet training as a child with the Prince Georges Ballet Company and School in the Cecchetti graded method. She later studied at the National Ballet School in Washington.

Mrs. Burch was a soloist with the Virginia Ballet and worked with Oleg Tupine and Tania Rousseau. While dancing with Virginia Ballet, she performed an extensive performance repertoire. After retiring from dancing professionally, Mrs. Burch taught ballet to adults in Northern Virginia for 13 years. During that time, she also received training in Ballroom dance with Thong Nguyen in the American style.

Most recently, she enjoyed teaching Les Mills Barre classes at Old Town Athletic Club. She is extremely enthusiastic about working with the Warrenton community at WBC.

✨Meet S T É P H A N I E C R I S T ✨

She is the owner of Union Physique, LLC and will be leading the UP Barre and the UP Yoga classes that are a part of our new Adult Fitness and Ballet Programs beginning on September 9, 2024! She has an impressive bio and we are so excited to welcome her classes to our WBC offerings so we can build a stronger, healthier community around us.

Stéphanie Crist began her fitness journey a little late in life. Though involved with tennis, ballet, and gymnastics growing up, it wasn’t until March 2023 that she developed a passion for fitness. It was quite the journey to this newfound passion. After losing 200 pounds, Mrs. Crist experienced multiple complications in 2019 post gastric bypass, which required over 10 surgeries to correct. Over a year of physical therapy later, she was advised to find an exercise regimen that would focus on mobility and strength. After exploring the available fitness options, Barre, Pilates, and Yoga met those needs, and she began to research options to become a fitness instructor and founded Union Physique, LLC. She is an American Barre Technique Certified and My Vinyasa Practice Yoga Certified Instructor.

Mrs. Crist is a Registered Nurse (Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Magna Cum Laude, University of Detroit-Mercy) and has a Masters In Health Systems Administration (Georgetown University). When she’s not teaching yoga or barre, she’s working full-time, a dedicated wife and mother, raising chickens, drinking coffee, organizing something, making bread, and driving around the USA!

Did you know that we offer several types of classes for young dancers??? Our school year is starting on Monday so don’t miss out on enrolling your child!
✨Exploring Movement (ages 2-3 with parent) is a great way to introduce your toddler to movement, peer-environment learning, balance, coordination, and fun all with their favorite person: you!
✨Creative Movement (ages 3-4) is our first independent learning environment for young dancers. They continue to work on balance, coordination, musicality, and simple group activities. They also are introduced to more stretching and start working on simple ballet terminology.
✨Pre-Ballet (ages 4-6) is when young dancers start using the ballet barre and learning more ballet terminology. There is more focus on stretching and students work on several types of steps across the floor.
✨Primary Ballet (ages 5-7) introduces students to more barre work, more ballet terminology, and more stretches. They work on harder steps across the floor and are considered the leaders for the rest of our young dancer program.
