Welcome back y'all! This UCM event is tomorrow - this is our fourth year doing it! It is aimed at q***r and trans* students. Regardless of what's going on politically there are many of us who still want people to feel included and embraced here so a local Warrensburg group (Free Mom Hugs) helps sponsor this event with Gender and Sexuality Studies. We always reserve the rock wall if students want to try that and it's only for those here for this event so we know is a safe place. We will also have crafts and some food as well for those who don't like heights! Pizza sponsored by GSS :-)

Today, we mark four years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and restricted access to abortion across America.

Reproductive care saves lives. I will never stop fighting to make sure every woman in America has access to the care she needs.

Here's a research participant call from a UCM alum! Please consider reaching out to Evan if you fit the criteria and want to be a part of this awesome research on disability and work:

Hello! My name is Evan Kirksey, and I am a doctoral candidate conducting dissertation research in organizational communication at the University of Missouri. I am seeking participants for a research study exploring the experiences of disabled individuals in workplace contexts.
To participate, you must be 18 years of age or older, have a visible or invisible physical disability, and have at least 6 months of previous work experience.

The purpose of this study is to better understand experiences of disability and work.

Participation in this study will involve:
•Two approximately 60-90 minute interviews conducted in-person or via Zoom, phone, synchronous text-based chat, or email during the summer and fall of 2026.
•Participation in a photo elicitation activity, where you will be asked to share approximately 5-7 photographs representing aspects of your experiences with disability and work.
•Participation in a journey mapping activity focused on creatively representing the experiences that have shaped your everyday work life.

Interviews will be audio recorded. Your participation is completely voluntary. You may decline to answer any question or withdraw from the study at any time without penalty. All identifying information will be kept confidential.

If you would like additional information, please feel free to contact me directly. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the attached survey. Your responses will be kept confidential and used only for screening and recruitment purposes. Completing this form is voluntary and does not obligate you to take part in the study. If selected, you will be compensated with $30 for your participation in the initial interview, and $50 for your participation in the mapping, photo eliciting, and follow-up interview. I would also greatly appreciate you sharing this opportunity with others who may qualify.

You can contact me via email at [email protected].
