[INTERNSHIP] MOKAN Internship Description & Skill Set Requirements

MOKAN Basketball is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that serves approximately 500 adolescents (grades 2-12) with year-round programming. MOKAN Basketball Club (MBC) is responsible for our 2nd-8th grade programming with almost all of our participants coming from the metro Kansas City area. MBC offers programming in camps, training and team settings. MOKAN Elite is our Nike-sponsored, nationally-relevant high school programming that serves boys grades 9-12 from all across the Midwest.
The ideal MOKAN intern would...
Be extremely flexible. There is some office work but a vast majority of the internship would include nights and weekends.
Have the ability to interact with a wide range of people ranging from 2nd graders in a training/camp setting to high-level executives serving on our advisory board.
Be able to work independently. The majority of the office work can be completed at home but needs to be done consistently and in a timely manner.
Have a broad skill set. Interns are exposed to a variety of tasks within the day-to-day operations to include: marketing, promoting, website development, fundraising, social media/branding, recruiting, training, bill collection, event operations, and customer service-oriented tasks.
Display initiative. Once tasks are completed, seek additional opportunities to improve the program/overall experience by problem-solving and thinking creatively.
