WCES OPEN HOUSE

We are excited to welcome families into our building before the school year begins.

Grades 1–3
*Tuesday, September 1
*5:30–7:30 p.m.

Grades 4–6
*Wednesday, September 2
*5:30–7:30 p.m.

These evenings provide students and families the opportunity to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and become familiar with the school.

Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will
also host carnival-style games and activities to help welcome everyone back and celebrate the beginning of a new school year.

The WCES PTO plays an invaluable role in supporting our students, staff, and school community. Through countless volunteer hours, they help fund student activities, support teachers, and create memorable experiences throughout the school year.

We are incredibly grateful for everything they do.

The PTO is always looking for new volunteers. If you are interested in becoming involved, volunteer information will be available during both Open Houses.

***Thank You to Our Facilities Team***
As we prepare to welcome all elementary students to Warren Community Elementary School, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to our custodial staff and Facilities Director, Mr. Astrella, for the tremendous work they have done in relocating materials from West Brookfield Elementary School. Their dedication, teamwork, and countless hours of hard work have placed us ahead of schedule and will ensure our students return to a clean, organized, and welcoming
learning environment.

Thank you for everything you have done to make this transition such a success.

***Classroom Placements***
Families with students entering Grades 1–6 should have received classroom placement information this week. If you are new to the District and have not received your child’s placement, that will be mailed to you by August 19. If you are not new to the District and have not received your child& #39;s placement, please contact WCES at (413) 436-5983.

* Screenings: September 3 & 4
*Screening appointment letters will be mailed by August 19.
*Kindergarten Orientation: Wednesday, September 9 @ 9:30. Families will learn their child’s teacher on this day.

***QRSD Beyond the Bell***
Our newly renamed QRSD Beyond the Bell before- and after-school program will begin on the first day of school, September 3.

*Before School: 6:45–8:30 a.m.
*After School: 3:00–5:30 p.m.

Daily Fees
*Morning Program: $10
*Afternoon Program: $15

Dear QRSD Families,
It is hard to believe that the start of another school year is just over a month away! We are excited to welcome our students and staff back for the 2026–2027 school year. Our entire district has been working diligently throughout the summer to ensure a smooth and successful opening of school on Thursday, September 3, 2026, for students in Grades 1–12.

As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support of the Quaboag Regional School District. We are looking forward to welcoming our students back for another outstanding school year filled with learning, growth, and new opportunities.

***DISTRICT UPDATE***

TRANSITION TO TEACHER-EASE STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEM
Over the summer, Quaboag Regional School District has been transitioning from PowerSchool to TeacherEase, our new student information system. TeacherEase offers a more user-friendly experience for families, students, and staff while providing improved communication and access to student information.

ACTIVATING YOUR PARENT ACCOUNT
On Friday, August 7, 2026, parents and guardians will receive an email from no-
[email protected] containing instructions to activate their TeacherEase account.

After activating your account, you will be directed to complete your child's online registration for the 2026–2027 school year.

Please complete your student's online registration no later than August 24, 2026.

Warren Community Elementary School (WCES)

***TEACHER ASSIGNMENTS & SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS***
Teacher assignments and school supply lists were mailed to families on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. If you have not received yours by early next week, please contact the WCES office.

***OPEN HOUSE EVENTS***
We are planning to hold two elementary open houses prior to the start of the school year:

Kindergarten–Grade 3: Tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 1
Grades 4–6: Tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 2

Final dates and times will be confirmed in next week's Community Update.

***SCHOOL TOURS***
We continue to offer school tours for families throughout the summer. If you would like to schedule a tour, please contact the WCES office at 413-436-5983.

***TRANSPORTATION***
Bus routes are currently being finalized and will be shared with families as soon as they are completed.

Families planning to utilize the North Brookfield School Choice Bus are reminded to complete the required registration form below for the transportation company to finalize rider information. North Brookfield Elementary School Choice Bus Form

***BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING***
Our Cougar Corner before- and after-school program will begin on the first day of school, Thursday, September 3.

Program hours are:
Morning: 6:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
Afternoon: 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Registration forms will be sent home within the next two weeks.

Beginning in October, the afternoon schedule will transition to:
Monday–Thursday: 21st Century Afterschool Program
Friday: Cougar Corner

Morning Cougar Corner will continue to operate Monday through Friday throughout the school year.

***SIXTH GRADE FERRY BEACH TRIP***
Information regarding the annual Ferry Beach Outdoor Education Trip, held each October, will be sent to all sixth-grade families in the coming weeks.
