My sweet Mom, Gramma to so many, ❤️
On September 16th, our world changed when Mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She also has multiple tumors on her liver and lungs. A follow-up scan on September 29th confirmed that the tumors have grown, with several new tumors appearing as well. Also many tumors have popped up and seen through her skin all over.
What brought her to the ER on September 16th was severe pain, significant weight loss, uncontrollable blood sugars, and becoming increasingly sick. She had been taking Mounjaro for her diabetes for about a year, and we truly thought everything was going well. We believed the weight loss was from the medication, and while some of it may have been, we now know there was much more going on. She has lost an incredible amount of weight and is got down to just 100 pounds.
Unfortunately, this is not the kind of cancer where you get treatment and simply go back to life as you knew it. This is the doozy—the kind no family ever wants to hear about. And as heartbreaking as it is to say, her time with us is far too short.
But through all of this, Mom is at peace. She knows where she is going, and she finds comfort in knowing that my brother is there waiting for her. ❤️
For now, we are going to love her fiercely, hold her a little tighter, make every moment count, and surround her with the people who love her most. She has been staying full time with us to be closer to all her babies and has my dad by her side.
She is our Mom, our Gramma, wife, daughter, sister, niece, best friend and our safe place, and one of the biggest pieces of our hearts. We are going to cherish every single moment we have left with her. ❤️
Please keep my sweet Mom and our family in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏🏻❤️
Please flood this post with pictures and memories.
She loves to hear from friends and family and will read them when she has the energy.
