Earlier this month was the 120th anniversary of artist and film pioneer Walt Disney's birth (Dec 5, 1901- Dec 15, 1966). This weekend a new exhibit "Inspiring Walt Disney: The Animation of French Decorative Arts" opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, exploring the influences of French fairy tales and aesthetic on the famous visionary's own visual style and storytelling. The exhibition is on view through March 6, 22.

In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, we're currently reading several new books by contemporary Native American female poets, including "Poet Warrior" by Joy Harjo.
