I signed my daughter up for Imagination Library when she was a baby and we have enjoyed the books so much over the years. Every month I’d say, “Look what Aunt Dolly sent you!” Then she started asking if Aunt Dolly had sent her anything yet. I bought a golden book of Dolly Parton’s story and have read it to Ava several times telling her the story of how Dolly’s mom made her her a coat out of scraps that she would one call her coat of many colors in a special song she wrote. I told her how Dolly grew up with little money and material things but had a lot of love in her life and gave generously of her heart and money in her adult life. Last night I told Ava that Dolly had passed away. I asked if she remembered Dolly’s story and she said “Sure, she had a coat of many colors that her mama made her and she gave me all those books!” What a legacy. Thank you Dolly — not only for the music but for the gift of kindness and grace and the example you set for us all. I miss you already Aunt Dolly.

Big news from Amanda Beagle Vocal Studio! 🎉

I’m thrilled to share that I have officially completed my certification as an Estill Master Trainer! This has been a four-year journey of study, examinations, observed teaching and mentorship, and I’m incredibly grateful to Tom Burke and Aimee Leonard for their guidance along the way. While I’m proud of this accomplishment personally, I pursued it largely for my students. Every singer and every voice is different, and I want to have as many tools in my “vocal f***y pack” as possible to help each singer understand, explore and grow their unique voice. I believe a good teacher should remain a student too—forever curious, always asking why and how, and continuing to learn so I can bring more to the singers who walk through my door. ❤️

• The senior citizen who is finally investing in their own passion after years of filling everyone else’s cup.

• The singer-songwriter honing their sound and learning how to use their voice with more freedom and consistency.

Adult voice lessons aren’t just for aspiring professionals.

They’re for people who are curious. People who want to grow. People who miss making music. People who are ready to make a little room in their week for themselves.

There is no expiration date on becoming a better singer—or on doing something simply because it brings you joy. ❤️

A first voice lesson shouldn't feel like an audition.

Beginning students aren't expected to arrive knowing how to read music, use “perfect” singing technique, or perform an entire song. Even practicing is a skill that the teacher should be ready to teach new students.
