We had over 110 competitors at our 2026 CBTC Youth Judo In House Competition!
Our main goal was to ensure that each kid that competed had as many matches as possible at their level. We also had the referees limit the amount of Shidos given to encourage positive judo.
Although this took a significant amount of work, I’m so grateful for the dojos who came to support and the community we’re all building in the NJ/NY area!

This past weekend, two of our athletes traveled to Lima, Peru to compete at the Pan American Championships. Aimee is coming home with a GOLD MEDAL, and Kevin secured a 5th place finish!
A few years ago when Aimee first moved to New Jersey, I sat Aimee and her parents down to have a meeting about future goals. During that meeting, Aimee told me that she wanted to qualify for the Pan Am Team. Although she didn’t qualify that first year, she kept working incredibly hard. We had another meeting, and this time she told me that she wanted to medal at Pan Ams. Last year, Aimee qualified for the Pan Ams, but fell short of getting a medal. Earlier this year we sat down again to discuss goals. Aimee’s tone was completely different in this meeting. She told me she was willing to do whatever was necessary to win the Pan Am Championships. More importantly, her actions completely reflected her words. She worked incredibly hard, trusted the process, and remained coachable along the way. Mission accomplished!!!
When Kevin first came to my dojo a couple of years ago, my goal was just to get him to the point where he wasn’t getting tired during match’s at local tournaments. Brick by brick we kept building, and Kevin not only lost thirty pounds along the way, but also qualified for his first Pan Am Team! He fought incredibly hard avenging a couple of losses from earlier this year and earned a 5th place finish!!
I am so proud of the next generation of athletes we have coming up!!! Thank you guys so much for the support.
