Second graders in Mrs. Carlesso's class are learning how to find evidence in their nonfiction passages to answer questions. Students practice reading the questions before the passage. This helps them to zero into the answer once they read the passage. They then answer the question using the RACE strategy: Restate the question, Answer the question, Cite the evidence, Explain what it means.
