LET'S TALK ABOUT OVERWHELMED
Who else is overwhelmed with the holiday season? You started a list so you knew who you bought for. Then the list was lost or you lost track. Then comes the overwhelming fear of forgetting someone. Of course, if you have children, you want to make sure what you buy is fair and equal. Not to mention dinner, decorating, school teachers and friends, parties, cookies...AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! It's all too much.
Take a deep breath. Find yourself a quiet place and give yourself a moment. The success of your holiday is dependent on your mental health. I'm not going to be one of those people that tells you that the holidays are about family and gifts don't matter. You choose what is important in your life. So, if you feel overwhelmed, shut it all off and take an hour, a kind of reset. Make sure your family understands that you need that time and that you will give them your undivided attention when the times up.
You might even consider buying an egg timer for these such occasions. After you have cleared your head, sit down and start making lists. get organized, make goals, and execute each plan and reach each goal one at a time. If you get overwhelmed, go back to your quiet space. Remember that noone is perfect. Have fun and also remember that happiness is the end goal. I hope everyone has the happiest of holiday!
