The monarch butterflies continue to reach their winter homes in California and Mexico through late November and early December. This fall we were able to bring three caterpillars inside from our milkweed plants and watch them eat and eat through milkweed leaves and then watch them grow and grow! It was so interesting to see them form a chrysalis and so exciting to watch them emerge! We set them free in our yard and hope they are among the ones successfully completing the journey! We learned so much from witnessing this remarkable life cycle which helps us understand and appreciate the world around us!
