Supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, this hands-on program gives students a first-hand look at the many exciting and rewarding career paths in agricultural sciences. Don't let that "summer slide" ruin all of the progress you made this school year! Read at least five books over the summer so you will be ready to have another successful school year in August!

The Houston County School Nutrition Program will continue operations this summer, offering meals free of charge to children ages 18 and under. Children do not need to be enrolled in the Houston County School District to receive meals.

There will be three ways for families to participate in the Summer Meals Program. Daily walk-in meal service will be provided at two school locations, vans will serve meals in eligible neighborhoods, and three sites will offer a weekly meal pack pick up service.

You will find details on the challenge as well as suggestions for books to meet the categories on the challenge card that are available on SORA which you can access on your dashboard. Our students and staff had a great time last week at our End-of-the-Year PBIS celebration! A special thanks goes out to Steven at Middle Georgia Inflatables, LLC! He made the rental process so easy, and he provided excellent customer service throughout the entire event! We love to celebrate our Jets!

Wednesday is the LAST day of the school year! 🎉

Parents of 8th grade students at NMS:
Please check with your student to be sure that they have returned their chromebook AND charger. There are quite a few students who turned in a chromebook, but they still need to return their charger. If they do not have the charger, they need to bring $20 to cover the cost of the charger.

A huge thank you to Hutchinson GMC Cadillac for helping make the Junior Beta Club field trip to Tybee Island possible! Because of their generosity and support, our students had an amazing opportunity to learn, explore, and create unforgettable memories outside the classroom. From hands-on learning experiences to fun in the sun, this trip was truly special for our students.

We are incredibly grateful for community partners like you who invest in and support our students' growth and experiences. Thank you for helping make this trip a success!

We are excited to share our Summer Reading Challenge for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Northside Middle School! All students have been provided a copy of the Summer Reading Challenge card, and they have until the first week of school to complete the challenge. All students who successfully complete the challenge of reading FIVE books from any of the topic squares on the challenge card will be invited to participate in an ICE CREAM CELEBRATION in August of 2026 when we return to school! We look forward to hearing about all of the great books you read!
