From dual enrollment student at Central Georgia Technical College to Salutatorian, Kaleb Greene is proving that hard work, determination, and support can change lives. ๐โจ
Kaleb graduated from Central Georgia Technical College with TWO Associate of Applied Science degrees โ Criminal Justice Technology and Technical Studies โ while also serving as Salutatorian at Dooly County High School
Kaleb began his college journey in the Dual Enrollment Criminal Justice program under the guidance of Mr. Miller, and today he is preparing for an even brighter future as a Gates Scholar at Fort Valley State University. He also currently works with the Dooly County School System, continuing to lead by example both in and outside the classroom.
One of the most meaningful moments of Kalebโs journey was choosing Ms. Kesha Kendrick as his Golden Apple Award recipient โ an honor recognizing an educator who made a lasting impact on his life.
In his heartfelt letter, Kaleb shared:
โMs. Kendrick, I am truly honored to recognize you as my Golden Apple Recipient. Out of all the educators who have played a role in my journey, you stand out in a way that words can hardly capture, but I will do my best to express just how much your impact has meant to me.
You have been someone I could always depend on. No matter what I was going through, I knew I could reach out to you and you would be thereโready to listen, to support, and to guide me in the right direction. That kind of consistency and care is rare, and it meant more to me than I can fully put into words.
What makes you so special is the way you show up for your students. You donโt just do your jobโyou go beyond it. You make sure people feel seen, heard, and supported, and thatโs something that truly sets you apart. You have a way of making others feel comfortable, while still encouraging them to be their best.
Because of you, Iโve grown not only as a student, but as a person. Youโve helped me stay focused, reminded me of my potential, and pushed me to keep going even when things werenโt easy. Your presence made a difference in my life in
ways that will stay with me for years to come.
Thank you for always being there, for your support, and for the time youโve poured into me. You are more than deserving of this recognition, and I am truly grateful for everything youโve done.โ
At Central Georgia Technical College, this is why we do what we do. Stories like Kalebโs remind us that education is more than degrees and diplomas โ itโs about empowering students, building confidence, and creating life-changing opportunities for the next generation.
Congratulations, Kaleb, on your incredible accomplishments and bright future ahead! ๐โค๏ธ
