💛 Celebrating the grandparents who make every moment a little more special!

MGCAA Head Start celebrated Grandparents Day with lots of smiles, love, and quality time together. Pictured in our reel are families from Byron Head Start, Jones Head Start, Elberta Head Start, and Fort Valley Head Start enjoying special moments with the little learners they support every day.

Grandparents and extended family members play an important role in helping children feel connected, confident, and supported—and we’re grateful to have them as part of our Head Start family. 💐

Our Treutlen Head Start children had a BEARY fun time learning, singing, exploring, and making memories with Dad and their father figures! 🐻

🎶 We started by singing and moving along to “Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, Turn Around!”—a fun way to practice listening skills, following directions, movement, and coordination!

🔎 Next, our children went on a Teddy Bear Scavenger Hunt with Dad to find the special teddy bear they had colored. They used their observation and problem-solving skills while having lots of fun along the way!

🧺📖 We ended our activity with a sweet picnic with Dad, where families enjoyed reading a story together while snacking on Teddy Grahams and sipping Juicy Juice! 🧃🐻

Learning is even more special when our families are part of it! 💙 Thank you to all of our dads and father figures who joined us and helped make our Teddy Bear Picnic so much fun!

We are so grateful for all of our wonderful grandparents! Seeing the BIG smiles on our children’s faces as their grandparents arrived was absolutely priceless. 🥰

Our children had so much fun completing our Picnic Scavenger Hunt with their grandparents and making special memories together! 🧺🔎🐞 Thank you to all of our grandparents who joined us last week. Your love, support, and involvement mean so much to our children and to us! ❤️

Sometimes the best learning starts with a little imagination! Our Montgomery Head Start children enjoyed a fun Motherhood Activity creating popsicle stick puppets with their moms and mother figures.

As they designed their puppets, children practiced creativity, fine-motor skills, communication, and self-expression—all while spending meaningful time with family.

🎭 Safety lessons are even better when they come to life!

Bleckley Head Start is grateful for the Pilot Club, a group of retired educators who return each year to teach our children important safety skills through a fun puppet show. From water safety and bike safety with helmets to fire safety, their visits help make these lessons memorable and easy for young children to understand.

They even stopped by the day before school started to let us know they were ready for another great year—bringing notepads and pens for staff and, as always, a special treat of nuggets for the team. 💙

We appreciate community partners who continue to show up for our children and staff year after year.

Our fathers and father figures at Head Start joined their children for a special “All About Me” activity focused on connection, conversation, and celebrating what makes each child unique. Jones and Montgomery Head Start are pictured here!
