Take Charge Tuesday, Financial Readiness for Life
In partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Office of Field Operations (OFO) offers Veterans, transitioning Service members (TSMs), spouses, their family members, caregivers, and survivors the opportunity to participate in the Take Charge Tuesday, Financial Readiness for Life Financial Educational series.
The series is designed to address Financial Literacy gaps across the military and Veteran community.
This is comprised of two programs:
• An online website portal that contains free Financial Literacy
information and resources available at Investor.gov/veterans.
• The live financial education seminar, Take Charge Tuesday,
Financial Readiness for Life.
Speaker presentations are offered once a quarter, covering topics such as investing beyond your military career, fraud prevention, and building wealth through saving and investing.

This presentation is part of the SEC's "Take Charge Tuesday" series, and this session will cover investing basics such as risk and return, as well as the latest updates from SECURE Act 2.0 (Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement 2.0). You’ll learn how diversification can reduce investing risk and how to monitor your accounts, research investments, and evaluate investment professionals. You will also learn how to spot the red flags of scams, including relationship scams that can begin with a single random text.
