Quick spotlight on Josh Simmons. Watch him lock into this funky groove and make that guitar sing! Want to play with that kind of confidence? Josh has some lesson slots that just opened up!

🎹 Welcome Sukun Zhang to Performa Lesson Studios!

We’re excited to welcome Sukun Zhang to our piano faculty at Performa!

Sukun is an accomplished pianist and music educator who earned her graduate degree in Piano and Organ from Wesleyan College and holds a bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Jilin University Zhuhai College in China.

Her teaching experience includes private piano, group piano, music theory, music appreciation, composition, school outreach programs, and preparation for graded music examinations. She has also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Wesleyan College.

Sukun brings a thoughtful, individualized approach to teaching, helping students build strong fundamentals, confidence, musicianship, and a genuine love for music.

We’re very happy to have her joining the Performa team and can’t wait for our students and families to get to know her!

One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching a student grow over the years and eventually take that next big step.

Hugh has had the privilege of teaching Brett-Lucas Pritchett for the past six years, and now he’s heading to Mercer University in Macon to major in Music Education.

It’s been incredible watching Brett develop not only as a vocalist and musician, but as a young man with a genuine passion for music. Knowing that he’s now taking that passion into college—and ultimately into a career where he’ll have the opportunity to teach and influence other young musicians—makes us incredibly proud.

Brett, it’s been an honor being part of your musical journey. We're excited to see where this next chapter takes you.

Today is a bittersweet day at Performa as we say goodbye to Justin Carr, who has been an incredible part of our studio as a voice instructor.

Justin has made a lasting impact on so many of his students, helping them grow as singers, performers, and young artists. His influence has also extended well beyond our walls, making a significant impact on the musical theatre community throughout Middle Georgia.

As Justin moves on to the next chapter and begins teaching from his own location, we’re grateful for the time he spent with us and everything he contributed to Performa.

Justin, it’s been a pleasure having you as part of our team. We wish you nothing but success in what comes next! 🎶🎭

🎹 Day one with “Clocks”!

Will just started learning Coldplay’s “Clocks” today, and he’s already getting that unmistakable piano part under his fingers. Still in the beginning stages, but a great start!

We love seeing students build a song from the ground up — especially one they’re excited to play. 🎶

Performa Lesson Studios 5th Annual Spring Recital at The Muse Theatre was a success! Like last year, we had 2 separate sessions chock full of talented students who worked hard on preparing their pieces to perform. Thank you to all of our parents for your support and of course, our students for their dedication and practice. Lastly to our exceptional instructors who make Performa the studio it is! Video content will be posted in the next coming days!
