⚾🥎 For Maya, softball became a bridge to her family and her own self-worth.

Maya's father played baseball in high school, but because Maya figured she would have to fund her own equipment, she didn't come out for the team her 9th grade year. Once she saw all of the donated equipment in the coach's office, she knew she wouldn't have to buy anything and decided to come out for the team. 🥎

Maya was able to invite her father to her games. It provided a powerful way for them to connect, as he began helping her practice at local parks on the weekends. 💙

Maya struggled with self-image issues typical of early high school. Seeing herself in a professional-grade uniform — funded by this donation — made her feel like a "real athlete." That confidence carried over into her social life, where she went from being an isolated student to having a core group of supportive teammates.

Not everyone is in a position to write a check, and that's completely okay. Financial contributions are incredible, but the hands-on work of our volunteers is the true engine behind every single gear shipment we send out to kids in need.

⚾🥎 Meet Ryland! 👏

As Ryland prepares for his Bar Mitzvah next August, he's launching a service project with Pitch In For Baseball & Softball to help make the game he loves accessible to every kid.

Ryland says: "From t-ball at age 4 to the Final Four at Cooperstown All Star Village, baseball has given me confidence, leadership, and lifelong lessons. Now, as I transition to the big field and prepare for my Bar Mitzvah next summer, I'm giving back. For my Mitzvah Project, I'm partnering with Pitch In For Baseball & Softball to help make the game accessible to kids who don't have the gear or fields to play."

How you can support:

🧤 Donate Gear: Ryland is collecting gently used or new baseball/softball equipment now through July 2027. Send a message to arrange a drop-off or pick-up!

💙 Donate Funds: Contributions go directly toward getting equipment into the hands of kids who need it most.

Chase donated a fantastic haul of equipment — baseballs, uniforms, gloves, helmets, cleats, catcher's gear, and bats — all headed to young players and programs that need it.

⚾🥎 The Taste of Hawaii in Southern Cali!

As a follow up to February's event, longtime partner the Kurt Suzuki Family Foundation hosted its first ever Taste of Hawaii event in Los Angeles to highlight special initiatives in Maui and southern California. Earlier this year, PIFBS and the Suzuki family partnered to donate more than $40,000 in equipment to bring baseball back to children in Maui who were impacted by the 2023 fires. In addition to their support of youth baseball, the Suzuki Family Foundation also supports education programs and programs that help families recover from the Lahaina fires. ⚾🥎 Jordan, 12, struggled at the plate last season. With lots of batting practice and a bat that fit him better, he has excelled at the plate so far this season. In fact, Jordan was batting in the 8th spot and creating more pressure at the plate — making the coaches notice the hard work he has put in and earning a potential move up in the batting lineup. 🧢

Barlow Auto Group is excited to announced that we have partnered with In For Baseball & Softball to collect new and gently used baseball and softball equipment for young athletes. Clear out your garage, give your old gear a second inning, and help us make sure every kid gets the chance to play!⚾️🥎

📍 How to help: Now through October 31st, drop off your new or gently used baseball and softball equipment in the collection bin located at any Barlow Auto Group dealership during regular business hours.

⚾🥎 We are thrilled to welcome Sam Ranck to the Pitch In For Baseball & Softball Advisory Council!

As Senior Executive, Strategy at Little League, Sam leads organizational strategic planning to expand opportunities for children to play baseball and softball. Since joining Little League’s full-time staff in 2007, he has held leadership roles across league development, strategy, and the Little League Challenger Division®, while also helping launch the Little League Diamond Leader coach education program.

Sam brings a deep passion for youth development and removing barriers to participation. Please join us in giving Sam a warm welcome as we work together to ensure every child has the equipment and opportunity to play the game!

Little League International has been with PIFBS since the start. Our very first projects helped to rebuild dozens of leagues along the Gulf Coast that had lost everything following Hurricane Katrina. Over two decades later, the partnership continues to thrive.

Sam adds expertise and a unique perspective that will strengthen our ability to do more for kids and programs around the world and we are thrilled to have him on the team. Welcome Sam!

⚾🥎 One week out! Our Equipment Drop-Off + Volunteer Day is Saturday, October 3 in Warminster.

That bat in the garage? That glove nobody wears? Let them play extra innings. 🧤 Drop off gently used baseball and softball gear, or lend us a few hours in the warehouse — either way, more kids get in the game.

Look at these beauties! A HUGE thank you to EvoShield for the recent donation of more than $40,000 in brand new batting helmets in all different colors, batting gloves, and bags. EvoShield has been a wonderful friend to PIFBS over the years, we cannot thank them enough!

This donation supports our General Grants Program, which provides grants of new and gently used equipment to leagues, schools, and communities to make it possible for all kids to access the game. As one of the hottest brands out there, it’s really exciting to be able to offer them in our grants!

Donations help offset Pitch In For Baseball’s costs and meet the ever growing demand for our programs. Did you know that grant requests has more than doubled in the past five years? In 2025, PIFBS approved 1200 equipment grants helping 175,000 kids play ball. That kind of impact isn’t possible without the support of caring partners and supporters.
