📚 Understanding Virginia’s New SOL Cut Scores

Bath County Public Schools wants to keep our families informed about changes to Virginia’s Standards of Learning (SOL) assessments and what they mean for our students.

Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, Virginia will begin phasing in new cut scores for reading and mathematics over several years. We encourage families to review the information below to learn more about these changes, the new performance levels, and ways to support student success.

📬 Additional information will also be sent home with students in the coming weeks, so please be on the lookout!

Visit the Virginia Department of Education's Raising Expectations webpage for details and supporting documents. For resources to help your child learn at home and understand SOL reports, visit the VDOE Parent and Caregiver Assessment Resources page.

Big game tomorrow over in Pocohantas County!!! The Battle for the Buck is back!!!

Earlier today, I got my first look at the Passing the Buck trophy. It’s been refurbished and is ready to go.

The Pocahontas County Warriors will host the Bath County Chargers in a renewal of this local rivalry.

Kickoff is at 7:00 PM, with our pregame show beginning at 6:45.

The game will be broadcast across the entire Allegheny Mountain Radio network, with our West Virginia crew handling the call.

Good luck to both teams.
