Sure, Standard Class is about the skills. How do you make a fire? How do you get a coal? What about trapping? Filtering water? Building a shelter?

But it’s about so much more than that. How do we connect to the Earth and the world around us? What would we do if we got lost in the woods? Or there’s a natural disaster in our area? What is a need versus a want? What truly matters to you?

There will be moments of struggle as you try to get your first bowdrill coal, or your first attempt at a figure four trap. But the moments you’ll remember are the ones where you’re laughing with your fellow classmates around the fire, or where you’re blowing that coal you made into flames.

Students leave Standard Class with a deeper sense of purpose, confidence, excitement, and thankfulness. Everyone I know has said it’s a life changing class.

We’re excited to announce the first installment of our FREE new series: Dirt Time Diaries

After the wonderful feedback to the Skills Put to the Test program, Tracker is creating an ongoing series; Dirt Time Diaries to continue our exploration of how the teachings of Grandfather and Tom have influenced the lives and experiences of Trackers. We’ll explore how the physical and spiritual skills have been used in the wilds and in everyday life. We can learn a great deal from each other's successes and failures and be inspired to take the next step on our own journey.

These classes will be offered FREE to everyone and have no prerequisites. Each event will focus on one or two individuals and will begin with a live interview followed by an opportunity to ask your own questions. They’ll include instructors and Trackers from all levels of experience!

Have you ever wondered how different it might have been if you started learning Earth skills as a child? Our guests for this program bring very unique perspectives. River is Tom’s son and was brought up surrounded by Tom’s teachings and the Tracker School. Kyle Moes was raised by parents who are long-time Trackers. They were exposed to the skills, both physical and spiritual, from a very young age and continued to be passionate about them growing up. In 2010, Tom began mentoring them and both have gone on to become instructors at the Tracker School. Come hear their experiences and how learning these Earth skills from such a young age has influenced their lives and their relationship with nature.
