Yield Star Cereals is a Washington based cereal breeding company. Our focus is on all classes of wheat and triticale grown in the Northwest. We believe that new varieties must be created and tested in the region that they will be grown in. This approach helps to create new lines that are adapted to the areas it matters most. Using a traditional style of plant breeding, and testing our varieties throughout the Northwest in various growing regions helps to determine which variety will work best for each of our customers. We breed for disease and drought resistance, increased yields, high grain quality, stand ability, and high performance, with local adaptability. We are committed to building strong, lasting relationships that give our growers the greatest profit potential we can offer.

Stay safe out there!

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Adams, Grant, and Lincoln counties in effect from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.

Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.

Impacted areas include Grand Coulee, Coulee City, Odessa, Creston, Ralston, Electric City, Lamona, Stratford, Harrington, Coulee Dam, Ritzville, and Wilbur. Other areas will also be impacted.

Power outages are possible.

Please drive safely if you are in a high-profile vehicle.

Some mild weather outside today will turn cloudy & wet tonight through tomorrow thanks to a cold front. Light precipitation is expected. Mountain snow & morning rain/snow mix is likely. Yes, even in the lower elevations you may see some snow mixed with rain and we could see some slush in places.
No, we're not looking for accumulating snow to metro roadways or to trees.

It may seem like summer this weekend, but fall weather is right around the corner. The next chance of rain looks to be Monday into Tuesday. Rain amounts will vary by location with the best chance for wetting rains across northeast WA into the ID Panhandle. Cooler temperatures will follow through middle of next week.
