West Central Learning Academy

WCLA students partnered with Acacia of Hope for a walk inspired by the novel "A Long Walk for Water" to raise awareness about families' struggles to access clean drinking water. The class also raised $500 toward 13 water filters that can provide clean water for families for up to 10 years.

School leaders can utilize the Universal Design for Learning System Implementation Tool to begin conversations around removing or reducing barriers to student and staff learning. This tool supports each level of the educational cascade. The Tier 1 tool supports district or organizational level contexts. Tier 2 is great for buildings. Tier 3 is meant for classroom-level teams. As we move into Fall don't forget to share the Ohio UDL Design Cycle with anyone who designs learning environments to remove barriers and promote learner agency!
Teachers can use this tool as a self-reflection and to support their own professional goals to improve practice in areas such as: 1) Reduce barriers for all students, including students with disabilities, and 2) Increase the use of evidence and research-based practices.

📣 Massive Math Milestone & Key Updates for Region 6! 📊🚀Great news for Ohio education! The newly released 2026 Ohio School Report Cards reveal that statewide math proficiency has officially reached a five-year high! This milestone is a testament to the hard work of our regional educators, administrators, and students.As we celebrate this growth, important shifts are happening right now to keep that momentum moving forward. Senate Bill 19 officially took effect, marking a major step forward for math literacy and equity across the state.
🧩 What this means for our districts:
Expanded Intervention: Schools will begin providing targeted, evidence-based math interventions for students demonstrating limited math skills.
