Focus of today was tight and aggressive decelerations and explosiveness out of them. Julia and Alex provide a great example of breaking their steps down, dropping the inside shoulder and hip, and shifting their center of gravity to the inside leg. We love using the timing sensors because they give the athlete motivation to beat their time as well as an understanding of when they are moving more efficiently and effectively!

Single leg accelerations are a great way to work on hip extension and projection in the first few steps 💯

No shoes Sundays 🫡 This group working on top speed are all 7-11 years old. Barefoot training allows their brains and bodies to develop the neurological pathways that help them to interact with the ground quickly and effectively. We find that removing their shoes reinforces landing under the hip on the proper part of the foot, helping mitigate heel striking and overreaching. Plus for some reason everyone finds everything more fun in their socks 🧦 🤪🙄
