Dear 8th Grade Parents and Guardians,
Due to the increased threat of severe weather Monday evening, Wamego Middle School has made the decision to move 8th Grade Promotion and the promotion dance to Tuesday evening instead of Monday.
Administration has been closely monitoring the weather forecast since last Friday, and unfortunately the projected chance for severe weather has only continued to increase. Administration discussed multiple options, including moving the start time earlier on Monday. However, regardless of the decision, some inconvenience to families was unavoidable. Ultimately, we felt that moving the event to Tuesday was the best decision because it allows us to guarantee the safety of our students, staff, and families while also ensuring our 8th grade students still receive the promotion ceremony and activities they deserve.
Student arrival times, promotion start times, and dance times will all remain the same. The only change is that the events will now take place on Tuesday instead of Monday.
We will still keep the promotion practice schedule on Monday as originally planned. It is important that students attend school on Monday and participate in the promotion practice activities.
We understand this adjustment may create inconvenience for some families, and we sincerely apologize for that. Please know this decision was made based on what is best for the safety and well-being of everyone involved, not individual circumstances.
