Gananda Family Daycare

Gananda Family Daycare I am a Family daycare provider with 22 years of childcare experience. I provide before school care following the Gananda school calendar. I love my career.

The children I care for become part of our family. I work hard to communicate with new families open and honestly to see if my program is a good fit for their individual needs. I then hold a high value on open communication so that we can work as a team in caring for your child.

"expected to sit for hours every day"

Do you find this is true? Kids need movement. A great reminder from Angela Hanscom, founder of TimberNook .

What little children need is play, care, and love, not school.

Some very important information for families! ❤️🎄❤️

Dr. Anthony Fauci tells Elmo and his friends that he traveled to the North Pole and vaccinated Santa Claus himself so that he can safely deliver presents this Christmas.

Attn Richard Mann Elementary Families: We are excited to announce we will begin using a program called PikMyKid on Monday, September 14! This app will help organize the school dismissal process and improve safety. Download the App onto your smart phone - it can be found in the app store! You can then use the app to notify the school of pick-up changes, authorize others to pick-up your child from school, and alert you when your child has been picked up or sent home on the bus. This will also help us better organize the car line during pick-up.

The registration process is easy and we ask that all elementary parents register with the phone application as soon as possible. To see a training video and a Parent User Guide, go to the PiKMyKid App page on our website at: https://bit.ly/2FsxPIq

Look at the differences between a typical younger child’s hand (left) and a typical older child's hand (right). I have parents asking regularly why their preschool aged child isn’t able to write yet. This is why! Their hands (and brains) are still developing and are not fully formed. So what should they be doing to support this? PLAY!! Playdough, colouring, cutting, gluing, playing outside, digging in dirt, sensory play, dress up play, science experiments, beading, puzzles, throwing balls, etc. All of these things help their hands develop. When they are physically ready to write, they will! No need to rush them, they will show you when they are ready!
