WCUSD1 staff, under the direction of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, participated in ALICE Active Shooter training this afternoon. Student safety is our top priority and we are thankful for the workshop put on by Officer Witges, Officer Draege, and Officer Peas with assistance from ISP Special Agent Stanley.

The ‘feels like’ temp was 106°, hotter than any year the 8th grade has traveled to Cahokia! This 9/11 Stair Climb was most like the real temps firefighters dealt with in 2001. These kids were troopers and still set goals to at least climb the flights of stairs equivalent to the North Tower before time was up. Coltley Tepovich still managed to climb the 110 flights of stairs symbolic of the World Trade Center in only 30 minutes!

Mrs Frank’s 8th grade science class is learning about scientific inquiry and practiced today by dissecting owl pellets. Oh, what fun!🦉

Congratulations to Charley Schaefer on finishing in 1st place in JV in her first cross country meet of her career! She finished 12 overall and 1st for jv runners! Great job!
