NYLT Training Schedule is Out!

ESFPA administers New York Logger Training, Inc.(NYLT)'s Trained Logger Certification (TLC) program. Consisting of 3 Core modules and a dedication to continuing education, TLC is a distinction earned by individual loggers whose in-woods skills, commitment to ecologically-sound practices, and high level of professionalism render them among the best to harvest timber safely and sustainably.

If you are interesting in harvesting timber on state lands in New York, or plan to deliver wood to SFI-adherent companies, TLC is an imperative. If you are just starting out in the profession, or need to maintain certification, visit www.newyorkloggertraining.org for more information about training in New York, and to view our published Fall Schedule.

We appreciate not only our program supporters, but also our training partners, whose workshops are indicated on our schedule.

Seat time is the best time.
Yesterday at the Trout Creek BOCES campus, students from both Trout Creek and Norwich got behind the controls for a deep dive into water bar installation with a bulldozer and log truck operations.

These students represent the next workforce generation, and their passion for the forest industry is exactly what this trade needs.

A huge thank you to the following:
- Dan Schaefer (Schaefer Logging) for providing the log truck, instruction, and sharing his expert knowledge.
- Kevin Roe (Roe Brothers Forestry) for his invaluable instruction on bulldozer operation and water bar installation.

Training the next generation is a team effort!
