The Walton Central School District welcomed new teachers and staff to new employee orientation this past Tuesday. The group included any hired from September 2025 through present.

Superintendent Teresa Glavin facilitated the day in an effort to promote a sense of belonging, an awareness of district priorities, and instill confidence in their new roles. The day was filled with relationship-building activities. Information on district protocols and procedures, specifically from the business office and technology department, was also talked. The group also took a bus tour through the community.

Teachers also had the chance to spent time with building principals, bargaining units, and/or mentors.

It was a great day to welcome all of the newest members of the Walton Warrior family, and we look forward to a great year!

Students taking driver’s education this summer took part in a session with representatives from the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) of Delaware County.

During the session, representatives from the ADAC took students through a sober speedway impaired driving obstacle course, as well as other activities such as a field sobriety test and other hands-on games while using impairment goggles. Though students had fun during the session, they were also taught what could happen to them legally in these situations.

Thank you to the ADAC as well as the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office for holding this session for new drivers!

Safety announcement: New traffic pattern at Walton HS and MS

In response to safety concerns at the Stockton Avenue campus, the Walton Central School District is implementing new traffic controls and directional patterns at the middle and high school starting in mid-August.

Key changes include:
• Student drop-off: The drop-off location remains unchanged: on the left side of the high school in the student parking lot.
• One-way traffic flow for Maple Street: Drivers will enter the main parking lot from Maple Street and exit via Stockton Avenue only. Traveling backward toward Maple Street from the middle school and high school parking lot will no longer be permitted.
• No right turn from Stockton Avenue: Turning right into the front parking lot from Stockton Avenue entrance will no longer be permitted.
• Bus lane: The front area of the high school remains reserved exclusively for bus drop-off and pick-up.
• Traffic signs: "Do Not Enter" signs will be installed at key entry and exit points to enforce the new one-way route.
We appreciate the community’s cooperation as we roll out these initial safety measures to protect our students and staff.
