Prospect Hill Kids' Club partners with the community center at Prospect Hill Terrace, Waltham's largest low-income housing community, in order to provide the community's children with a safe place to come after school. Our coordinators and volunteers serve as role models and mentors to some of the children of Prospect Hill's 140 families.

Thank you to everyone who attended our educational outreach event on the 22nd! We had the privilege of welcoming Alyssa Blask Campbell, who helped us navigate a lot of the situations we see at Prospect Hill! Hopefully you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

At PHKC we are super excited to announce that Alyssa Blask Campbell will be joining us for an educational outreach event on March 22. She is an expert in early childhood education, and will be sharing her knowledge with us so that we can bring it to the center or just apply it to our everyday lives! The event will be held in Golding 101 from 7-9pm, so mark your calendars! We can't wait to see you there!

Coordinator Spotlight!!!

Lauren Nadeau is a senior majoring in Business with minors in Legal Studies and Social Justice and Social Policy (SJSP). When she is not at the center, Lauren is a Legal Studies UDR and a student supervisor at Phonathon.

"One of my most memorable moments at the center was actually during the homework hour. I was helping a first grade student with his addition and subtraction homework. The hour was stretching on and I could just tell that he was going to start giving up soon, so I quickly looked around the room for something that could help make his homework a little easier and more fun. I settled on a bag of tiny blocks and used them to give him visual of the problems on his homework sheet. We had so much fun playing with the blocks, that after the homework hour was up, the student actually stayed at our table until he finished his homework."
