"Fit Around the Farm: A Holistic Approach to Health Promotion for Elders," has been published in SSM - Qualitative Research in Health. This is an open access journal, which means that anyone with this link will be able to access the full article.

The collaboration of Tamar Harrison - HSSP '20, Linda Palmer, Pat Spence, and Ruth Goldman of the Urban Farming Institution with HSSP/SOC Professor Sara Shostak and the paper that emerged from it is powerful. The first person testimonies of the women whom Tamar interviewed in 2020 is deeply moving; and what UFI has accomplished in designing and implementing the Fit Around the Farm program (even amidst the challenges of the pandemic) is really extraordinary. Here's hoping that this brilliant work will inspire other farms to create programs for elder members of their communities.
