Hi y’all!
Due to COVID-19 our fall semester is looking very different than it has in the past. Unfortunately, we will not be able to host our fifth annual closing celebration of LatinX Heritage Month in-person. However, we are working on organizing a virtual event for the LatinX community to enjoy. As a part of this virtual event, we would like to create a visual timeline of the history of the LatinX community at Brandeis. We need the help of LatinX alumni to piece together important events, meetings, and movements that the LatinX community was involved with. Please email [email protected] with any valuable information that you all would like to share from your time at Brandeis, including any pictures, videos, flyers, and other visuals that you may have that we can share through this visual timeline. You can also send us a message on Fb (Brandeis LatinX Student Organization ) or instagram ()!
In addition to our call out for more information regarding the LatinX community at Brandeis, we would like to take the time to encourage folks to give back to current LatinX students by donating to the Brandeis Mutual Aid Fund. The Brandeis Mutual Aid Fund is a student-run effort to provide financial support to BIPOC students in a sustainable manner given the current circumstances and how they are disproportionately impacting BIPOC and low-income students. Brandeis Mutual Aid Fund relies on donations and community fundraising efforts to redistribute these funds to student in need, so we hope you can share these efforts and support however you can! Please follow the Brandeis Mutual Aid Fund () on instagram to get more up to date information on fund distributions, their new buddy system, and how you can help!
