We employ a multiude of techniques to find out more about how perception develops in various populations of children. Neat paper on perceptual development in children with ASD. When kids with ASD were matched with typical kids of the same verbal intelligence rather the same age, a lot of the differences in their neural processing faded away, except for one difference in early visual processing, which may then lead to later deficits in higher cognitive functions. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0022096511000336
