Join us on October 25 from 1 to 4 PM for Gann Academy’s Open House!

Discover our rigorous academics, inclusive Jewish community, and opportunities for students to pursue their passions in the arts, athletics, leadership, and clubs.

Students in 7th and 8th grade from public schools, independent schools, and Jewish day schools, along with their parents, are all welcome.

Students will get a taste of life at Gann through sample classes in chemistry, Israel education, history, robotics, and more, while parents can attend engaging panels about our academic program and Jewish life.

You’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about generous financial aid, transportation, and everything that makes Gann such a special Jewish community.

There are so many ways to spark and cultivate your passions at Gann and to grow as a leader.

This year, Gann students can choose from 67 clubs, with most students joining two or three. Clubs are fun, a great way to build community, and a chance to explore interests beyond the classroom.

Some are competitive, including Mock Trial, DECA (a student business and entrepreneurship organization), Debate, HOSA (Future Health Professionals), Math Team, and Science Olympiad.

Others create space for students to explore identity and leadership, including Women in STEM, Women in Business, and SHeEOs. Many clubs are all about Tikkun Olam, including Challah for Hunger, Green Heifers, and A Box of Hope.

Whatever you’re interested in, there’s a place for you!

Sukkot this year has sadly been a bit of a washout. Last week, our students and faculty painstakingly built three sukkot across campus, only to have them blown down by the nor’easter this weekend.

Our main sukkah, right at Gann’s front entrance and the center of much of our Sukkot programming, was completely destroyed.

So what do a bunch of resourceful and resilient Jews do? We persevere!

Today, we moved a sukkah from beside the Gann Farm to the front of the school. This week, we’ll beautify it, gather together, and celebrate at an epic Sukkot carnival on Wednesday.

Gann is launching a community reading series that brings students and faculty together about once a month for thoughtful conversation about a great book. At our first gathering, during clubs lunch on October 14, English teachers will lead discussions that follow students’ questions and draw connections across literature, philosophy, and the world around us.

Our first selection, Bruce Holsinger Culpability, invites us to examine AI, ethics, adolescence, and responsibility: When something goes wrong, whose fault is it?

Before Shabbat, we wanted to share one of our favorite Gann traditions: Senior Sunrise! The Class of 2027 got up bright and early to watch the sunrise together, bond as a grade, and make memories as they begin their senior year.

We’ve been thinking about our recent graduates as they settle into their new adventures at colleges, gap year programs, and in the IDF across the country and around the world. We’re remembering last spring when they come into Gann wearing their college sweatshirts. We’re wishing them all the best as they begin this exciting new chapter!

Since our first class graduated in 2000, Gann alumni have attended more than 200 colleges and universities and participated in over 25 gap year programs. They’ve headed to 32 states, Washington, D.C., and five countries abroad.
Our graduates attend an incredible array of colleges and universities, reflecting the diverse interests, talents, and aspirations of our student body. From Ivy League universities and some of the most selective colleges in the country to Big Ten universities, art schools, engineering schools, and a wide range of public and private institutions, our students find the places that are right for them, with our college counseling team par excellence helping them every step of the way.

Good luck, Class of 2026! We can’t wait to hear about your adventures!
