Today WHS TV Broadcasting students met with Boston 25 Meteorologist Shiri Spear! Ms. Spear talked about the priorities of the forecasting process and what a typical day looks like for a meteorologist. She engaged the students in some activities describing the force behind the weather. Great presentation and the students loved it!! Thank you Ms. Spear for visiting WHS - we all learned a lot!!

A video has been produced by our students in TV Broadcasting II & III showcasing the new building and its many offerings. The video debuted last week when the 8th Graders from Kennedy and McDevitt Middle Schools were provided the opportunity to visit WHS and tour the CTE Shops and Fine and Performing Arts Programs.

Waltham Public Schools is pleased to invite you to tour the new Waltham High School on either Saturday March 15th or Sunday March 16th. You must be a resident of Waltham and complete all the required information on the form (see link below). Enter a first and second choice and we will do our best to honor your selection. These are 30 minute guided tours. Confirmation and parking information will be emailed to you the week of the tour.

Recently WCVB/Channel 5 News Anchor Maria Stephanos visited the TV Broadcasting studio to talk with students and share her knowledge and experience in the communications business. Students asked great questions and Ms. Stephanos was very generous with her time. Thank you Ms. Stephanos for taking the time out of your busy day to bring real-world experience to WHS!!!

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Friday. We were honored to have Mary Pichetti from the MA School Building Authority cut the ribbon with Mayor McCarthy. Many members of the City Council and School Committee were in attendance. We were also proud to have on hand the people who managed, designed and built this beautiful building. Thank you Leftfield, SMMA & Consigli Construction!

The last meeting of the Waltham School Building Committee took place last week. The meeting was held in the large group instruction room, fondly known as "The Waltham Room" at the new high school. After the meeting the group took their last tour of the building. Five years of decision making and planning and four years from breaking ground to welcoming Waltham students and staff. Thank you to the "Dream Team" of Leftfield, SMMA and Consigli Construction for guiding us through this process and giving us a world-class, state of the art high school!!!
