Looking to finalize your Fall 2026 schedule? Seats are still available in two music courses this upcoming semester!

In MUS 183b, Intro to Ethnomusicology, with Professor Garvey, you can explore music in action, participate in transcription workshops, and engage in participant-observation fieldwork. This course meets on Tuesdays from 9:35am to 12:25 pm.

Alternatively, you can examine the complex history of European antisemitism, institutional responsibility, and the ethics of problematic artists through the lens of Richard Wagner's career in MUS 29a, Music and Antisemitism, with Professor Frey. This course meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:05 to 5:25pm.

Peter and Dylan in action! 🌊🔊We're only two days away from the opening of WAVEFORMS: Sound Installations Inspired by the USS Salem.

Come support our two freshly minted alumni Peter Zhaoyang Han (MA '26) and Dylan Needleman (MFA '26) as they debut their new sound installation this Saturday, June 6th, exclusively aboard the USS Salem in Quincy, MA.

Attention Slosberg Community! The United States Shipbuilding Museum presents WAVEFORMS: Sound Installations Inspired by the USS Salem by local artists.

Come support Brandeis alumnus Dylan Needleman ('26) and graduate student Peter Zhaoyang Han as they debut their new sound installation this Saturday, June 6th, exclusively aboard the USS Salem in Quincy, MA.

Congratulations to composer, pianist, and multimedia creator Baldwin Giang on winning the 7th Annual Henri Lazarof International Commission Prize!

An internationally performed artist whose work spans global stages from Carnegie Hall to IRCAM's Manifeste in France, Giang is recognized for creating concert experiences that foster collective wonder.

His previous honors include the Samuel Barber Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome, a Fulbright Arts Fellowship, and residencies with the Louisville Orchestra and Mahler Lewitt Studios. Giang holds degrees from Yale University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Chicago, and he currently serves as Assistant Professor and Director of New Music and Creative Innovation at Pacific Lutheran University.
