Greetings, CCMS Families,
We would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Victoria Reed for leading our Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) this morning. We truly appreciate her time, leadership, and commitment to encouraging our students. We know it takes a village to keep our kids connected, encouraged, and moving in the right direction. Thank you for being a part of our CCMS village.

Did you know that as many as one in three students in the country misses 10%, or about 18 days, of the school year? This September, join with us to celebrate the Attendance Awareness Campaign. We’re working together to make sure all kids show up and participate every day possible. Being in school supports students’ social, emotional and physical well-being, and provides students with opportunities to learn and reach for their dreams. Let’s show up together and get back into the habit of daily attendance!

Spotlight of the Week: 7th Grade Science!
Greetings, CCMS Families!
This week, we are shining the spotlight on our 7th-grade science classes! Our students have been diving into the fascinating world of endothermic reactions through hands-on experiments and scientific inquiry.
Students had the opportunity to conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, collaborate with their peers, and draw conclusions based on their observations. This hands-on learning goes beyond simply learning science concepts—it challenges students to think critically, ask questions, solve problems, and apply 21st-century skills. We are proud to see our Cougars learning by doing, collaborating with one another, and thinking like scientists. Way to go, 7th Grade Science! Champions in Motion!

Greetings CCMS families,
The CCMS Career Development Department recently hosted the Be Pro Be Proud SC 53-Foot Mobile Workshop, giving our students an exciting, hands-on opportunity to explore high-demand careers in the skilled trades through interactive simulators and virtual reality experiences.

We are especially proud of our 14 student ambassadors who assisted throughout the event by demonstrating equipment, taking photographs, organizing materials, and directing students to their designated areas. Their leadership and professionalism helped make the day a tremendous success!

We were also honored to partner with USC Salkehatchie's STEM Program and Colleton County Fire Rescue, who provided additional career exploration opportunities and valuable information about careers in STEM and public safety.

At Colleton County Middle School, we are committed to preparing our students for college, careers, and life beyond the classroom. By exposing students to a variety of career pathways and educational opportunities, we are helping them discover their interests, develop their talents, and prepare for successful futures.

We welcome businesses, entrepreneurs, colleges, universities, military branches, technical schools, and community organizations to partner with us in providing meaningful career and college readiness experiences for our students. Together, we can inspire the next generation of leaders and professionals.

What an amazing evening! Our Color & Connect Family Night was filled with creativity, conversation, laughter, and meaningful connections. A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our families who joined us and helped make the event such a success!
Families enjoyed painting, refreshments, and meaningful conversations about supporting their children and strengthening the connection between home and school.

A special thank you to Truist Bank and the South Carolina Office of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities for joining us and sharing valuable information and resources with our families. We truly appreciate your partnership!

Did you miss Color & Connect? Don’t worry! Join us on September 16, 2026, at 5:00 PM for Reading Together: Building Strong Readers at Home. We’ll share practical ways to support your child’s reading at home, and, of course, we’ll have a fun, hands-on family activity to go along with it!
