Lowcountry Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Lowcountry AHEC is a private not-for-profit organization.

Lowcountry AHEC provides better healthcare to the twelve counties of the lowcountry of South Carolina by connecting high school students to careers in health, college healthcare students to their communities and healthcare professionals to continuing ed. The Lowcountry Area Health Education Center is one of four regional centers serving 12 southeastern counties in South Carolina as part of the South Carolina Area Health Education Consortium.

This past week, we celebrated our 12 Summer Interns during our closing ceremony here at Lowcountry AHEC!

Over the past month, these students have worked hard to gain valuable experience, knowledge, and skills while creating lasting memories in the healthcare field. They did an amazing job presenting their final projects and sharing their internship experiences.
We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing what they achieve in the future.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the hospitals and healthcare organizations that provided these valuable internship opportunities: HCA Colleton Medical Center, Hampton Regional Medical Center, and MUSC Health Orangeburg.
