Meet Mrs. Cathi Shuman
Journalism & Yearbook

Please join us in getting to know Mrs. Cathi Shuman, our Journalism & Yearbook teacher at North Walterboro Christian Academy!

Mrs. Shuman is passionate about helping students discover and develop the unique gifts God has given them. Through Journalism and Yearbook, she enjoys encouraging creativity, teamwork, and excellence while helping students capture the memories that make each school year special.

📖 Favorite Bible Verse:
"The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17 (NKJV)

Mrs. Shuman shares that this verse has become one of her favorites because it is a sweet reminder of just how deeply God loves us.

🍎 Meet Our Teachers

Meet Mrs. Tina Carden
1st Grade Teacher

Please join us in getting to know Mrs. Tina Carden, our 1st Grade teacher at North Walterboro Christian Academy!

Mrs. Carden was blessed to be raised by two wonderful Christian parents who taught her the love of Jesus from an early age. She is a lifelong resident of Colleton County, a graduate of Walterboro High School, and also attended TTC. She faithfully attends Refuge Church, where she volunteers in the daycare and enjoys teaching children about God's Word.
Family is very important to Mrs. Carden. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, two grandsons, and extended family. She also loves the outdoors, taking her dogs for walks, exploring historic churches. Mrs. Carden is excited to share God's love while helping her first-grade students grow both academically and spiritually.

Meet Miss Kayla Mariucci
Teacher's Assistant

Please join us in getting to know Miss Kayla Mariucci, one of our Teacher's Assistants at North Walterboro Christian Academy!

Miss Mariucci is excited to begin this new chapter of serving at NWCA, the very school she proudly called home for seven years. A member of the Class of 2026, she was actively involved in athletics throughout her time at NWCA, playing sports for six years. Her experiences as both a student and athlete have given her a deep appreciation for Christian education and the lifelong impact it can have.

Kayla is passionate about helping children grow into the people God has created them to be. She is excited to bring her faith, enthusiasm, and love for students into the classroom each day while encouraging them to discover their God-given potential and live out the core values of NWCA.
