Highlighting Career Pathways: Professional Speaker Series Presents LIUNA: At Bi-County Collaborative, we are dedicated to helping our students explore real-world career opportunities and vocational pathways. As part of our ongoing Professional Speaker Series, we were excited to host Terry Camara, the Laborers' Pre-Apprenticeship Coordinator from the New England Region Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA!).

Terry shared valuable insights into pre-apprenticeship opportunities, skilled labor trades, and the steps students can take toward building a successful career. Through interactive presentations and hands-on learning discussions, our students gained a deeper understanding of what it takes to build a strong future in the industry.

A huge thank you to Terry and LIUNA for inspiring our students and supporting transition and career readiness in our community!

Hands-On Science: Making Liquid Meteors with Help from Therapy Dog Ginger!

Our students had an out-of-this-world time in science class as they tackled a hands-on experiment: making liquid meteors! Using liquid solutions to simulate meteor chemistry, students observed key reactions, tracked changes, and put their scientific process skills to work. Adding to the fun and encouragement was Ginger, our beloved therapy dog, who dropped by to lend a helping paw (and offer moral support) throughout the lesson. Community Outings in Action: Practice Makes Progress at the 99 Restaurant! 🍽️✨

Our students recently took their learning on the road with a fun and functional community outing to the 99 Restaurant! Trips like these give students valuable real-world experience putting functional and social skills into practice. From navigating a menu and placing orders to practicing restaurant etiquette and engaging in friendly conversation with staff and peers, every moment was a great learning opportunity. Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch while building confidence, independence, and social connections.
