Meet one of our new adjunct professors, Marianne Burch! Marianne starting teacher the Writing Your Life Story class this current winter term. Keep reading below to learn more about her:

🖋Marianne is a writer and filmmaker with a background in screenwriting, documentary storytelling, and creative workshop design. She holds an MFA in Screenwriting from Cal State Northridge and has spent years teaching writing and leading programs in community and therapeutic settings. She focuses on helping people find clarity, confidence, and personal meaning through story. Her work blends accessible instruction with supportive guidance, giving new writers a space to explore their memories and experiences in a grounded, welcoming way.

✒When taking Writing Your Life Story with Marianne, students can expect guidance that helps them reflect on the events that shaped them and turn those memories into meaningful personal stories. Each week introduces a theme, sample stories, and structured prompts that make writing approachable for both beginners and experienced writers. Her class emphasizes connection, reflection, and the joy of remembering while offering simple, practical tools to help anyone capture their life experiences on the page. Participants leave with stronger writing skills, deeper self-understanding, and a collection of stories they can share with family or continue developing on their own.
