San Antonio Regional Adult Education Consortium is a collaborative effort across regional adult education partners to better serve adult learners in the area. San Antonio Regional Consortium for Adult Education is an effort supported by state legislation (AB104), designed to align, leverage and expand instructional and programmatic services to ensure adult learners enrolled in local programs move

along established pathways to achieve optimum levels of literacy, post-secondary transition and employment in the workforce.

This year, RACE continued creating opportunities for adult learners to grow, achieve their goals, and remain engaged in their community.

🎓 Celebrated the Class of 2026, recognizing adult learners reaching important educational milestones!

📈 Reported continued growth in student participation and engagement, reaching 1,063 participants and more than 137,000 hours of attendance!

🗣️ Celebrated 505 learners who achieved at least one fluency level gain, along with continued growth in measurable skill gains!

🤝 Recognized RACE student Jong Kab Choi for his Outstanding Volunteer award and commitment to serving the community!

🩺 Launched its first-ever summer class, a Vocational ESL-supported pilot program designed to help English learners build the foundational skills needed to pursue high-demand healthcare careers!

💼 Continued providing career-focused training in fields including Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Cosmetology, Barbering, and Office Occupations!

🛠️ Construction students Ileana Velasquez and Everado Mena earned 1st and 2nd place in the SkillsUSA Carpentry State Competition, with Ileana going on to represent Bassett Adult School at the national competition!
