For now, we do invite you to check out the School for Music Vocations' www.SMVRealGroupFestival.com festival that Dr. Jeremy Fox is organizing. It is all of $25 for you to individually sign up or you can register an ensemble!
Pre-Festival Add-On classes feature a number of The Jazz Harmony Retreat faculty. For instance, for four Saturdays in March you can be one of 16 individuals who "Sharpen Your A ca****la Arranging Skills" with Anders Edenroth and Jeremy Fox. We are now looking into whether or not you might also earn one Graduate Credit / Professional Development by attending.
Also, the last two Saturdays in March, Ryan Howe is leading two hands-on sessions in order for you and your students to "Sharpen Your Improvisation Skills".
And Sundays afternoons in March, Peder Karlsson and Merel Martens are leading a set of classes in "Online Rehearsal Inspiration." Usually And just for kicks, we are also offering a free home recording session by members of The Real Group and the SMV.
The SMV Real Group Festival in April will have more than 25 unique Masterclasses for you to actively join in on – or to watch afterwards. Educators will have access to the videos for six months after the festival. This festival is the gift that keeps on giving for you and your students! ❤

The Jazz Harmony Retreat has set up an ONLINE retreat which will take place on three consecutive weekends next month: May 15th-17th, 23th-24th, and 30th-31st. This online retreat is for up to 12 vocal/choral educators or soon-to-be-educators to learn (or to learn more!) Jazz Harmony. The retreat has multiple levels, and is absolutely beginner-friendly as well! Dr. Justin Binek is teaching piano, while Dr. Jeremy Fox teaches the arranging portion of the retreat. Matt Falker is also on our faculty, helping with some of the instruction – he will join us on many of our "Play sessions", on topics like vocal improvisation, the ins and outs of the sound system, forum discussions with other educators, and more. It is a $100 deposit or $345 tuition, less than half the cost of our normal retreat. Please contact me if your school has Professional Development funds you think may be available. We also are open to setting up a payment plan. We know this may be a tough time in many ways, but we hope to make it possible for everyone who wishes to attend this retreat to be a part of it. We are also looking into whether we will be able to offer – as we typically are with our in-person retreats – three Graduate/PD Credits at an additional cost.
